A bright blue sky, a sandy beach and the St. Joe lighthouse set the scene for Missy and Todd’s beautiful lakeside nuptials! These two truly enjoyed every bit of their day. We often tell couples that when the day arrives to sit back, soak it in, have no worries and enjoy every minute. Missy and Todd did exactly that, letting nothing faze them (even the shuttle bus who left us stranded!)…they were smiling and bubbly all day long. They made their families, an important part of their lives, a central part of the day. Missy carried a bouquet made up of broaches given or loaned to her by women in the families. We especially enjoyed the crew of nieces and nephews serving as flower girls and ring bearer who excitedly chased gulls and exhausted their bubble wands. Both Missy and Todd’s parents were celebrating their own landmark wedding anniversaries this year. They honored both sets by letting them cut their own cakes — so cool!! My favorite part of the day was the introduction of the newly married couple. He arrived in IU’s nostalgic candy-striped warmup pants; she (a real baller herself) entered holding a basketball. They choreographed a dance which had me grinning from ear to ear the entire song. Such a special couple and a wonderful day!
Picture a pigskin in place of the black binder…do you recognize this footballer and childhood idol of Todd’s?!
