Spring Has Sprung!

It has indeed!  And it’s been beautiful.  This is one of my favorite times of the year…I love the fresh blossoms, the deep greens and other colors of new life.  I’ve been noticing more and more growth around our yard.  I decided to grab our macro lens (a lens specifically designed to focus at very short distances) for some close-ups of what’s blooming.  When you’re needing a break or a have a few minutes to give yourself, look around your own yard or surroundings…get up close, really close, to your plants, your trees, your grass.  Touch them, smell them and be amazed at what they’re doing.  Guaranteed enjoyment.

Here’s what I found in our yard…I didn’t realize we had quite the variety!

These are the leaves of a red raspberry bush.  We got a very small harvest last year…I think (and hope) in year 2 they’ll do much better.

Mom, your transplanted hostas are thriving!

And I didn’t kill your ferns either!  :)

These beautiful red leaves come from bushes in front of our home.  They were here before us, and Kurtis and I continually debate about whether they’ve gotten any larger.

I didn’t discover the droplets of water until I really got close.  I love it.

This is a small rose bush given to me as a birthday present a few years back.  It’s thriving too, and the buds are ready to bust!  Thanks, Tom and Heather.

These are flowers on our blueberry bush.  Now we just need some pollinators to make it happen!

Good ‘ole helicopters.  Fun to toss in the air…not so much fun to clean up.

This apple tree had big blossoms last week, but I think the cold may have gotten to them.  We’re hopeful for at least a small crop.

I couldn’t leave out my cute lawn boy who keeps everything in order!

Happy Spring!
